What is the domestic church or  the home church?

According to the Second Vatican Council’s Dogmatic Constitution on the Church: “The family, is so to speak, the domestic church.” (Lumen Gentium #11) This means that it is in the context of the family that we first learn who God is and to prayerfully seek His will for us. In the following bullet points you will find some suggestions on how to build your “domestic church” through a life of prayer that can help all the members of your family.

Pope Francis' Prayer Intention

from June 2022

Every month Pope Francis has a different prayer intention. Each year is different, but he seems to always include a prayer for the family since this is important to him and our Church.

His words to all of us about the family are beautiful. He asks us not to be afraid. It's okay if we are not perfect. But we are to love one another and learn ways to live with each other, young and old.
